The Director, Athletics reports to the Dean of the Faculty of Kinesiology and is a member of the Faculty’s senior leadership team. The Director will be responsible for the Athletics Department annual budget, all USports teams, numerous competitive sport clubs, the marketing and management of on-campus athletics events and the contracts for Athletic Therapy. Administrative staff is in place to support these programs. The Director will have full managerial authority over a contingent of both unionized and non-unionized staff.

The role will have national and international impact. Nationally, the Director will position the department as a leader among USports members, striving to positively impact the course of university sport in Canada. Additionally, the success of the Dinos nationally will impact the university brand as a whole. Internationally, the Director will ensure that University of Calgary student athletes are competing for positions on national teams as well as in international competitions and success at these events will positively impact the University. Dinos Athletics, in part, acts as the face of the University and, in part, the City of Calgary. The Director will position the department to reflect the values of the Calgary community and the campus.
