The Chief of the Commission and Tribunals is the visionary leader of the Alberta Human Rights Commission, and is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and long term goals of the organization and the communities it serves.
This role leads three independent areas of the Alberta Human Rights Commission:
- The Office of the Chief of the Commission and Tribunals, this includes the Human Rights Tribunals that adjudicate human rights complaints;
- The Office of the Director, which receives, conciliates and investigates human rights complaints; and
- The Education and Engagement Unit, which facilitates public awareness initiatives within the community, and is responsible for the administration of the Human Rights Education and Multiculturalism Fund.
