The Director, Campus Planning is responsible for the develop of accommodation solutions that meet the University of Calgary’s growing and changing academic and research facility needs. The Director liaises with the Senior Leadership Team level from all units (academic, research, administration, and service) as well as colleagues in Facilities Development (project planners, architects, engineers, project managers and consultants), and institutional governance and community committees, all of whom are dedicated to ensuring that the University of Calgary optimizes the development, use and renewal of its physical space resources to support world‐class learning and research.
The Director is supported by programming specialists, a plan and space data coordinator, shared administrative support, and a small operating budget. External planning consultants are engaged from time to time and are accountable to the Director. This position works closely with the Deputy Provost and academic leadership, and requires a deep understanding of the institution’s academic and non‐academic strategies, current activity and future directions in order to respond with effective accommodation solutions.
