CREATING SUCCESS THROUGH LEADERSHIP

Community Involvement

As specialists in executive search, communities have a dual significance for Davies Park: they are the places where each of us grew up, went to school, and formed relationships; and they are also the incubators of a resource on which we depend for our livelihood: leaders. All leaders are in some measure a product of the communities they inhabit, and by supporting the healthy growth and development of the communities where we ourselves operate, we believe we help to create conditions that nurture strong leaders for the future. Thus, our interest in communities is both a matter of professional interest and of corporate conscience: our business thrives through the cultivation of strong communities, while our own debt of gratitude to the people and places that have made us what we are demands that we give back in meaningful and tangible ways.

Community Involvement has always been an important aspect of Davies Park’s approach to conducting our business and being a meaningful member of the business community. Our Founders, Gerry Davies and Darwin Park have always had the philosophy that in order to be successful, you must be a strong supporter of the local communities you serve. This has been an ongoing tradition, as members of Davies Park have continually been generous partners to the communities in which they do business.

This philosophy of community involvement dates back to 1989 when the partnership was founded. Contributions, either through time, talent or financial contribution have been made to various organizations in the not-for-profit, post-secondary and medical sectors, as well as the Arts Community and minor sports. Davies Park is proud of the contributions we have made and we look to make meaningful contributions to various organizations on an annual basis.

The words of Albert Schweitzer sum it up well for us as a firm: “I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: The only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.”
